Tips For A Great Engagement Session

When choosing outfits for your engagement photo session, consider:

• Choosing an outfit that lets your style show through.

• The overall style you’re looking for in your shoot (formal, casual, modern, country, themed, etc).

• Choosing simple patterns or solid colors to compliment the subject matter: you and your fiancé.

• If one of you is wearing a bold pattern, have the other person wear a solid, complimentary color.

• Similar lengths of clothing always look good. Ex. Both wearing shorts or both wearing long pants, both wearing short sleeves or both wearing long sleeves.

• Wearing coordinating outfits not matching ones.

• Wearing jeans that have a similar wash/color undertones so they’ll look good together.

• Outfit changes take longer than you think: dress in layers to quickly change looks by simply adding or removing layers and/or accessories.

• Stripes: horizontal stripes can make you look wider, vertical stripes can make you look longer.

• White will wash you out – especially if you have light skin or hair.

• Dark colors can be slimming.

• Remembering to bring a brush/comb, hairspray, lipstick/gloss and don’t forget a bottle of water or two.
