Tips For A Great Engagement Session
When choosing outfits for your engagement photo session, consider:
- Choosing an outfit that lets your style show through.
- The overall style you’re looking for in your shoot (formal, casual, modern, country, themed, etc).
- Choosing simple patterns or solid colors to compliment the subject matter: you and your fiancé.
- If one of you is wearing a bold pattern, have the other person wear a solid, complimentary color.
- Similar lengths of clothing always look good. Ex. Both wearing shorts or both wearing long pants, both wearing short sleeves or both wearing long sleeves.
- Wearing coordinating outfits not matching ones.
- Wearing jeans that have a similar wash/color undertones so they’ll look good together.
- Outfit changes take longer than you think: dress in layers to quickly change looks by simply adding or removing layers and/or accessories.
- Stripes: horizontal stripes can make you look wider, vertical stripes can make you look longer.
- White will wash you out – especially if you have light skin or hair.
- Dark colors can be slimming.
- Remembering to bring a brush/comb, hairspray, lipstick/gloss and don’t forget a bottle of water or two.
